Thanks to all of you who spent countless hours in preparation for the show in the months preceding it. As always, our hard work paid off. Congratulations to all of our winners! It was a long, hard weekend for these Bulldogs, and for some of them it paid off in a big way. We wish all of them the best of luck in future shows.

Steve Brosche won honors of Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed with CH Wagonwheels Lois Lane under breeder/judge Hank Williams. Lois is owned by Billy Gene Smith. Many of you may remember this is also the bitch who won BOS at the KBC Saturday Specialty Show.
Beverly Nevitt won the honors of Best of Winners for a 4 point Specialty major with Juliet’s Romeo II also under breeder/judge Hank Williams. Romeo is owned by Jannette Burns. Beverly also handled Romeo for another Best of Winners award at the Licking River KC all breed show in Columbus, OH under judge Carol O’Bryant on Monday, April 23rd.
Jan and Greg Lewis’s Black Tie Optional, aka Dr. Phil took the honors of Winners Dog on Saturday April 21st in Terre Haute, IN and Best of Winners on Sunday, April 22nd for back to back wins! At the Clarksville,TN show on April 29th, Dr . Phil again took the honors of Winners Dog.

KBC’s April, Elections Meeting
Congratulations to our new Vice President, Hope Lindsey and also to Jill Marelich as our club Secretary. We are sure both will do a wonderful job in their positions.
Welcome new member Phillip Besendorf. Phil & Nona’s Pineapple Upside Down Sophie was among the bitches exhibited at our Specialty show. Sophie won the 12-18 month class. We hope the club will have some educational values to offer Phil and his wife Nona.
We welcomed Stephanie Stottman and Phil Besendorf to the meeting.
We will list ads in both the Bulldogger and the Nationals Catalog for the next 5 years.
We will hire a new photographer for our Saturday Specialty show. She will not charge the club anything to do the photos, but would like to remain set up all day for exhibitors to have professional photos taken of their dogs. She offers photo packages at a very reasonable price.
We received a request from George Cromer RE: a contact from the club to give information and opinions of the newly passed animal ordinance in the Louisville-Metro area. Beverly Nevitt will do this for him.
Sarah Mills offered valuable information on heat stroke and heat exhaustion for the educational portion of the meeting.
Thelma Nolan gave a rescue report. There was a dog placed a while back which had to be reclaimed due to neglect. The dog is currently being fostered by a wonderful lady who adopted “Andy” last year. Many of you may remember Andy as the rescue dog who attended the Saturday Specialty show.
Some show committees were assigned for the 2008 show. We took the liberty to assign the same banquet committee since we received such nice compliments on the food served ;-)
Kudos To The Members of KBC!
Kudos to all of you who worked so very hard in making our 2007 specialty shows a success! There were few details to be taken care of on Friday prior to show time.
Jill set up the trophy table. A million thanks to Hope Lindsey for delivering the banner for the trophy table at very short notice.
Jim Hatchell and David Lindsey did a beautiful job of setting up the rings and organizing the seating for the spectators for the show at the FOP Lodge.
Cathy Baily & Jill Marelich brought in the breakfast. Cathy and Sarah Mills did a wonderful job setting up the breakfast table for the early birds. Thanks also to Cathy, Sarah, and Connie Moore for manning the drink station for all of our exhibitors and keeping fresh coffee brewed.
Vivian & Bill Wise, and Judy McBride prepared a meal which was complimented by all who partook! Judy single handedly prepared all of the tasty desserts which were also received well. Many went back for seconds! Vivian, many more thanks for your dedication despite your feeling under the weather.
Janet Hatchell & Jill Marelich kept things rolling before and during the show at the catalog & raffle sales table. They also made a great team in keeping track of the auction. This is a feat within itself!
Ron Klopfenstein once again proved himself to be quite the auctioneer! Ron, you are always appreciated. May we someday have the opportunity to return the favor.
May Meeting Topics
The May meeting will be held on May 20th at 3:30 PM.
We have a change of location for the meeting; it will now be held at the home of Jill Marelich. We will order pizza for those in attendance.
2008 back to back Specialty shows. Do we want to continue to have a Specialty Show in conjunction with the Cluster Show? or Would we like to have an evening show on Friday at which we will have to limit our entries and have Sweepstakes & Specialty on Saturday.
Do we want to have a Puppy Match next year, and if so, which day would we like to do this?
The 2008 Show will feature a Parade of Rescues. We had tried to do this in the past, but had few rescues to attend. In light of the fact that so many turned out for the function last fall, this will be a great opportunity to have the parade as a part of our Saturday show and possibly raise money for the rescue expenses.
We need to set a date and location for the rescue function and discuss fund raising options.
Barbara Colville has dropped out of the club. She was the Chairman of the Board of Directors, so now we are left with only the officers of the club as members of the Board of Directors, with no designated Chair person.
We need to assign Raffle item donations for the upcoming meetings.
The vote on the code of ethics as revised by the club.
Dates for the summer meetings to review AKC’s guidelines and recommendations for the club’s constitution and organization.
